Our Story
RL Civil was first established in 2017 when brothers Rikki and Luke decided to take a chance — they bought a digger and started subcontracting as drainlayers. Things took off pretty quickly, and it wasn’t long before they brought on Rhys Chaplin to lend a hand, followed soon after by Sam Hull. With the support of a few more team members joining along the way, the business kept ticking along nicely.

These days, RL Civil is run by Rikki and his wife Aliesha, with Rhys and Sam still a key part of the crew. With a growing fleet of diggers and an experienced crew, the company now tackles a wide range of civil construction projects.

Originally based on the Thames Coast, Rikki and Aliesha made the move with their family to Glenbrook, South Auckland, at the start of 2025 — setting up RL Civil for its next chapter.
